The intensity distribution at the double slit is worked out with the “Double slit” simulation program, using classical particles (droplets of a paint spray) and electrons. The result recorded is that, for classical particles, the intensity distribution is the sum of the two individual distributions. This behavior does not occur, however, for quantum objects (e.g. electrons).
